The advocate

وکیل ہائیکورٹ · راولپنڈی

A solo practice, on purpose.

I take the brief, I draft the papers, and I stand up on the date. That is the whole of the practice.

Ahmed Ali
Ahmed AliAdvocate High Court · Rawalpindi

I am a solo advocate practising from Murree Road, Rawalpindi. Civil, criminal, corporate, family, tax and constitutional work — I read the file, I draft, and I appear. You speak to me, not a junior and not a call centre.

The office is at 14-A Murree Road, Rawalpindi — a short run from the District Courts and within reach of the Islamabad High Court. Individuals, families and businesses instruct me because they want an advocate they can telephone.

I read the papers before we meet. I advise in Urdu or English, and I draft in both. You are not kept in the dark, and no point worth arguing is left unargued.

On the record

How the work is held.

You speak to me

آپ مجھ سے بات کرتے ہیں

No receptionist screening the facts. No associate who will “update the principal.” I read the enquiry and I call you back.

I appear on the date

تاریخ پر میں خود جاتا ہوں

Solo practice, on purpose. The counsel who takes the retainer is the counsel who stands up.

Fee in writing first

پہلے تحریری فیس

A short paid consultation, adjusted if you retain me. The full fee is given in writing before any court work begins.

How the work proceeds

A file, a view, a retainer — then court.

  1. 01

    WhatsApp or call

A short note of the problem. I read every message myself. Lock-up, bail or a date tomorrow — call, do not wait on a form.

  2. 02

    Send the papers

One document per photo, so the names and numbers are readable. FIR, fard, nikahnama, notice — whatever you have. Incomplete is not fatal.

  3. 03

    Written view and fee

Merits, time and cost — in Urdu or English. The first meeting is a fixed fee, adjusted if you retain me. Nothing starts without a fee in writing.

  4. 04

    I appear

The advocate you instruct is the advocate who stands up. You are told every date. Nothing is left to a junior or a tout.

Privilege

What you tell me stays here.

Communications between an advocate and a client are privileged under the Qanun-e-Shahadat Order, 1984. Your information is protected whether or not you ultimately retain me. An advocate–client relationship is formed only upon execution of a formal retainer — until then, this site and any first conversation are for information, not advice on your particular facts.
