Taxation & Revenue
FBR, appeals, sales tax, customs.
Stay: days–weeks · Appeal: months
A tax demand is not a judgment. I represent individuals and companies before the Federal Board of Revenue, the Commissioner (Appeals) and the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue in income tax, sales tax and customs disputes.
The work is documentary: returns, notices under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, and a written reply that meets each allegation. Where recovery is threatened, I move for stay. Where the order cannot stand, I appeal.
- Income tax assessments and appeals
- Sales tax and federal excise
- Customs seizures and penalties
- Commissioner (Appeals) and ATIR
- Stay against recovery
- Advisory on withholding and compliance
Bring to the first meeting
The notice or order, the return as filed, bank statements if relevant, and any earlier replies already sent to FBR.
Questions

Can you stop recovery while an appeal is pending?
Stay of recovery can be sought from the Commissioner (Appeals) or the Tribunal, and in appropriate cases from the High Court. Success depends on a complete reply and a genuine dispute. Bring the demand and the return to the first meeting.
